Unified Service Desk-Key Capabilities:
After extracting the out of the box Unified Service Desk "Package Deployer" contains four packages.
The following solutions get installed on the Dynamics CRM instance after successful deployment of the package. To check this go to Settings->Solutions
This package is very basic and lightweight. The following screenshots show the various entities which have the configuration records.
The following listed items are not available as part of this package:
- Window Navigation Rules
- Call Scripting
- Session Lines
- Entity Searches
When to use?
This package is appropriate if we choose to build a USD solution from scratch. Unlike other sample packages like "Unified Service Desk – CRM Web Client" or "Unified Service Desk – Interactive Service Hub", this package does not contain a lot of USD configurations. The scope of this package is not to showcase all possible USD capabilities and scenarios.
This package loads the USD desktop with a blank canvas. There will be no way to start a new session too! The following screenshot describes the USD desktop state after it loads with configuration from this package.
The package is useful for setting up a new development environment with minimum configurations, to begin development. All these minimum hosted controls and configuration records from this package required for the basic functioning of the USD desktop.
